i3billing is a remote connector for Claude. Once connected, Claude can query your Fatture in Cloud data without you opening the dashboard.
You need two authorisations, once each: one linking your Fatture in Cloud account to i3billing, and one linking i3billing to Claude.
1. Connect Fatture in Cloud
- Go to app.i3billing.com and sign in with Google.
- Press Connect Fatture in Cloud.
- Authorise i3billing on the Fatture in Cloud consent screen.
You return to the home page listing the companies that authorisation can see. If you administer several companies through separate accounts, repeat the step for each: authorisations add up on the same profile.
2. Add the connector to Claude
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add connector.
- Paste the connector URL:
https://mcp.i3billing.com/mcp - Claude opens the authorisation: sign in and confirm.
No config file is needed, and you never copy a key by hand. From this point the
fic_* tools are available in the conversation.
3. Ask your first question
A few that work right away:
- How much did I invoice in June, by client?
- Who hasn't paid me yet?
- Summarise that client's invoices for this year.
- Which overdue instalment has been waiting the longest?
Choosing the company
If your profile sees several companies, Claude uses the default one. To change
it, ask to set another: the fic_select_company tool saves the preference on
your i3billing profile. The preference changes nothing on Fatture in Cloud.
Writes and confirmations
There are two tools that change anything, and the hosted connector does not offer them today: they are registered for no one, whatever the plan. We document them here because this is what is coming, not what you get right now:
fic_set_internal_note— writes a document's private internal note. It never appears on the invoice.fic_create_unsent_invoice— creates a numbered invoice not transmitted to the Italian SdI, for you to review and send manually.
When we switch them on, both will ask for explicit confirmation before running. No i3billing tool transmits an invoice to SdI: that stays your action, inside Fatture in Cloud.
Permissions requested
Today the hosted connector asks Fatture in Cloud only for read permission on client records and issued documents: it is read-only, the same for everyone. Write permission on issued documents is what the two tools above would need, and it is not requested. The paid plans are announced, not active yet.
Common problems
The connector doesn't show up in Claude. Check you pasted the full URL,
including /mcp, and that the authorisation completed.
The first question after a quiet period is slow. The service scales to zero when unused: the first call wakes it up. Later ones are immediate.
Claude says it can't find the company. That means the profile sees several companies and none is set as default. Ask to set the one you need.
I revoked the authorisation on Fatture in Cloud. Reconnect it from app.i3billing.com: the old tokens are no longer valid and must be replaced.
Support
Write to us from the form on i3billing.com/support, or by email to support@i3billing.com. You get a person. The connector does not open tickets: those go through the form or the email.
